For the first time ever, Heaton Park will host its very own Christmas Markets. It comes as the park in north Manchester announces its festive programme of events.
Councillor Lee Ann Igbon, Executive Member for Vibrant Neighbourhoods said: "Manchester is the capital of Christmas and the whole city always gets involved in the festive season. Festive cheer has taken over Heaton Park this year- with film screenings, craft sessions, festive tipples and of course, markets."It’s great that Heaton Park is embracing Christmas and, is the place to be for families and the little ones.
Families are also invited to enjoy free screenings of festive film favourites under the Hayloft in the Stables Courtyard. Films will be shown between 11am and 3pm every weekend, and will be shown on loop and changed intermittently. As well as getting a gift from Santa himself, visitors will be invited to join in the Santa experience by planting a Christmas tree and listening to Santa read them a story. Tickets for the special festive event can be booked online

It’s NOT the first ever, I was told they have them in a few cities now and are quite popular at this time of year! (Not so much in summer though)
London has Hyde Park, we have Heaton Park! Great idea hope it's successful.
That’s all us locals fucked traffic wish, as if it’s not bad enough round there on a weekend
I believe there's a £10 donation to the park activies for stallholders, I think that's pretty cheap supportlocalbusiness
