A Nottinghamshire infant school has been experiencing problems with its boiler. Parents with children at Robert Miles Infant School in Bingham were asked to send pupils in extra layers today due to problems with the school's boiler and radiator network.
Due to these issues the heating system was unable to operate across the school, except in the main school hall. Temporary heating was placed across the school to ensure the building was warm enough whilst the school works to resolve the issue. A spokesperson for the Nova Education Trust said: "Robert Miles Infant School in Bingham is currently experiencing problems to its boiler and radiator network. The school, part of Nova Education Trust, remains open as usual today after the temperature in the building was deemed to be adequate enough to continue to operate.
"The school, in conjunction with the trust’s Health, Safety and Estates team, has taken proactive steps to acquire a temporary heating solution to ensure it can continue to operate as normal whilst work is undertaken to repair the heating system. The work is part of planned maintenance to the school’s heating provision to ensure that it can offer an environment that is welcoming and is conducive to learning.
"The school would like to reassure all parents that it will continue to operate as normal and the temporary heating will remain in place until the main heating system is repaired and fully operational."
