Former Manchester United player Harry Gregg - hailed as a hero for rescuing other passengers in the Munich air disaster - has died aged 87

Eight of United's iconic Busby Babes, named after then manager Matt Busby, died in the tragedy along with 15 others, however the death toll could have been higher.

Duncan Edwards - tipped to become one of United and England's greatest ever players - and captain Roger Byrne were among the players killed. Manchester United tweeted:"It is with deepest sadness that we have learned of the passing of former player Harry Gregg OBE. The thoughts and prayers of everyone at the club go out to Harry's family and friends."

He made 25 appearances in total for Northern Ireland, where had grown up before his move to Doncaster aged 18.
