One of the nicest, most natural presenters on television. We met him in March 2018 at Nostell Priory. After a gruelling day hauling the red sofa around Wakefield in the cold and rain, Harry Gration still had time to smile for Jan, my wife. Our thoughts are with his family.
Please honour this lovely, kind Yorkshire man by renaming the BBC Leeds studio ‘Gration House’. He deserves to live on in the lives of local people.

This man was the voice of Yorkshire's news for so many years. A really sad loss. Before the internet I had no idea how you'd spell his surname, I just heard it every day on the Yorkshire news.
When he retired he handed over the baton to the rest of a wonderful team. Amy, Paul and the rest of the good folk at Look North must be missing him terribly but you feel a part of him lives on through them. And I hope through a lot of us.

The 'people's presenter' certainly in Yorkshire. I worked with him on many occasions. Viewers would greet him in the street as if they were life long friends. When chairing events he would follow a dull speech with 'they meant well,' and so did Harry, always!

Harry was in our homes on an almost nightly basis for a generation of us. His genial manner, professionalism and wit charmed us all. I was in tears too as Amy delivered the sad news. It's obvious how much he was loved by all. I doubt there'll be a dry eye for Monday's tribute.
