Despite concerns about grade inflations, Education Secretary Gavin Williamson said young people should be congratulated for their ‘resilience and determination’ during the last year-and-a-half.

Gavin Williamson has defended this year’s A Level results as reports that nearly half will be graded A or A* spark concerns of inflation.

A total 38.6% of A-levels were graded A or A* last year when the country was first devastated by the Covid pandemic. In an effort to shut down criticism about ‘inflation’, Mr Williamson said young people should be congratulated for their ‘resilience and determination’ during the last year-and-a-half.supports HTML5 video
