Woman dies after eating cannabis gummy sweet

A 23-year-old woman has died after eating a cannabis sweet that was delivered to her door.

They each ate one sweet and immediately felt unwell. Both were taken to an east London hospital, where the woman died on Saturday.A man has been charged with possession with intent to supply Class B synthetic cannabinoid, being concerned in the supply of a synthetic cannabinoid and possession with intent to supply a psychoactive substance.A post-mortem examination will be arranged in due course; tests have been conducted on a number of sweets recovered by the police.

They are aware of one potentially linked case in which a woman was taken unwell earlier in March after eating a cannabis sweet in Tower Hamlets. She was taken to hospital and later discharged.Inquiries are ongoing to establish whether this sweet was part of the batch of sweets associated with the woman's death.

"Please do not buy or consume these products. They are illegal and, because of the child-friendly packaging, they can pose a risk of accidental consumption," he said.

Imagine if it were legal and regulated and people weren't dying from products contaminated due to people uplifting archaic brute force systems of governance like banning a substance because people want to do it as good. If people want it, banning it does worse for peoples safety.

Weed can't kill. Poor from BBC

I thought I was reading the Sun when I read that.Very misleading.

BBC back at it again with the misleading bullshit.

It was a synthetic cannabis gummy. Very misleading from BBC.

No one has died from cannabis but millions die from cars so maybe we should ban them & legalise cannabis instead

bbc pleased correct your headline as no one has ever died from cannabis... Ever. Woman dies from synthetic cannabis should be the headline. People die from synthetic cannabis which is not cannabis at all but random chemicals. Stop the fake clickbait headlines!!!

What a misleading headline!!! Once again, lazy, misleading, headline grabbing, journalism, and sadly STILL so predictable in 2022.

Yet another reason to tax test and legalise cannabis.

Better to choose a Polo mint

Not cannabis then 🙄

Well I have been using CBD GUMMIES for while, they have been a god send for my arthritic knees

No, because cannabis can't do this. She consumed a synthetic neo-cannibinoid in a gummy sweet. The cause of death is unknown, for all we know she could have reacted badly to gelatin in the sweet or the pizza she ate earlier. This is highly presumptive and needs addressing, BBC.

BBC and their need for clickbate. Journalism isn't about the truth anymore, it's about who can get a story out first, doesn't matter if its actually true. Pathetic 😂

Bollox!!!

i blame the government for this young ladies death tbh. theres never been an actual medical record of cannabis death, only poor manufacturing from illegal dealings. the governments war on cannabis being 'illicit' killed this woman.

Deliberately misleading headline there. It says in the opening paragraph: 'A 23-year-old woman has died after eating a synthetic cannabis sweet that was delivered to her door.* Synthetic - made by chemical synthesis, especially to imitate a natural product.

Manipulating Weed ,Is NOT Real Weed :/ Stop Talking Damaging Blocks :/ If I Make Illegal Russian Vodka & Change It, Its NOT Real Vodka :/ BBC BBCNews Twitter Weed Cannabis

“Woman dies after eating a *synthetic* cannabis sweet”. As usual, the BBC is misleading people who’ll just glance at the headline.

Not cannabis… synthetic

Joke headline

Drugs will kill you! 🤷🏻‍♂️

There is a lesson here, don't do drugs.!!!
