But the the US has a habit of destabilizing countries in the name of freedom then ignoring the consequences, so its no surprise. Whats happening in Guatemala is very similar to whats happening in Libya
The US is partly responsible for all the violence in Guatemala because of the Cold War and the US crusade against communism so I find it very immoral that they now condemn the Guatemalans to death now that the US achieved its goals.
He ought to ensure the well-being of all Guatemalan people, esp Mayans, so people don't feel desperate to leave the country & stay in their homeland. It's not a bad deal to have assistance from USA to be a bulwark. Other countries ought to ensure well-being of own citizens, also.
