'We would like to make it clear that we do not tolerate this behaviour'

A large group of teenagers threw projectiles at police cars after starting a fire at Concourse Shopping Centre in Skelmersdale.

This came just days after Tawd Valley play area in the town was set on fire. Officers say it was left so badly damaged that it has been "ruined for children and families to enjoy". A Section 34 Dispersal Order, under the Anti-Social Behaviour Crime and Policing Act, was put in place last week a "spike" in anti-social behaviour with "multiple" incidents being reported. Enquiries are now ongoing to find those responsible.
