Labour MP David Lammy asks the PM if more could have been done to remove cladding to stop families 'sleeping in infernos' The PM responds 'progress is not as fast as I would have liked', adding some building owners 'have not acted responsibly'

"Speaker, we wish you well on a decade as a modernising Speaker," she says.

She then goes on to say:"At this general election, voters deserve better than the choice between two tired old parties."Will the prime minister commit to take part in those three-way debates?" Mr Johnson replies: I'm not disposed to believe in the promises of the Lib Dems when their leaflet in London says they want to revoke Brexit and in the south west it doesn't mention Brexit at all."To take this country forward... she should join this party, vote for this government and support us in the general election."

Good to see he’s awake for a change!

Yes London council could have stopped planning permission.

Have a look at estate agengts windows dangerous flats are still for sale.

Who woke him up?

BBCPolitics Nobody seems particularly concerned about the cause of ignition, without which the cladding would not have caught fire. Report states it was the fridge-freezer but also states that the reason is not established.

Weak tea response from PM. Disgusting.

If only Johnson was involved in some form of Government that could force businesses to act responsibly.

And what has been done to the owners of buildings who are dragging their feet?

BBCPolitics Get your finger out

Wow, David Lammy said something balanced and important...there is hope!

Boris doesn't care.

FBI: Americans put nuclear waste in the Sahara Desert.

Lammy looks well fed and watered.

Wasn’t the cladding approved by a labour council

The cladding didn't start the fire it was the dodgy fridge in one of the apartmentsLuckily his wife and kids were not in the apartment that night. Why is the Fire Brigade getting the blame. Why does the tenant not be blamed at all. Is this the PC brigade sweeping under the carpet

PARLYapp Someone should tell the Prime Minister about this.

Wow someone ate all the pies.

Yes the greedy developers need to be prosecuted

BBCPolitics JeremyCorbyn is wearing a green tie to show his support for the Grenfell victims & what is the VILE & DISGRACEFUL response from the VILE & DISGRACEFUL CONservative? Oh yes you fcking guessed it, they MOCKED & JEERED him.. Vote Tory? WHY.. VoteLabour

The issue of cladding was brought up in 1999 by the fire service to the then labour gov, the chair of that committee was John Prescott. What party do you belong to David?

Camden Council did alright got given £80mn quid DavidLammy BorisJohnson GrenfellTower tragedy

BBCPolitics Wait for it, Lammy will probably claim they havent done so because they are racist as most if the tenants are minorities 🙄🙄

Never a policeman around is there you racist git.

Go back to sleep, you wally.

BBCPolitics Vote brexit party for the purest form this DEC 12th

Lammy talking usual bollox

Perhaps Lammy should be reminded that it was a local residents association that chose a cheaper cladding, in order to save funds. Local councils should be insisting that all unsuitable cladding is replaced, within a specified time limit.

He’s still going on about cladding when the report has targeted emergency response planning and arrangements as the main causal factor
