Many people across the country reported that their local Greggs was shut to customers. Closures have been reported in Newcastle, Cardiff and Manchester.
Others have said their local bakery was open but only taking cash with card payments unavailable. It comes after McDonald's, Sainsbury's and Tesco experienced technical issues last week, with customers also unable to pay by card.READ MORE:Fred. A spokesperson said: "We are currently experiencing issues accepting payments in our shops. We are working to resolve this as soon as possible”
Many have took to social media to express their frustration at being unable to buy their breakfast and morning coffee. One, joking on X, said: “Expect mass panic across the UK.” Another said: “This is not the news I wanted to hear.” A third customer said: “Greggs this morning is cash only! Sitting here with my coffee watching almost everyone have to walk out.” Another added: “McDonald’s last week, Greggs this week. What is going on?”
