Veronica Gordon, 79, risks spending her 80th birthday in jail due to a row over a security gate

A judge handed frail Veronica, 79, a six-month suspended prison sentence last week and ordered her to remove the gate or face jail. ‘I haven’t had an easy life – my husband didn’t work, so I grafted to bring up four kids and put meals on the table.The pensioner was first arrested in 2009 – her first brush with the law – when estate managers called officers to her flat in Mile End, East London.

Sooo. These are a massive fire risk and after Grenfell most of not all HA and local authorities Removed these gates with good reason. I don’t understand why they’re being so heavy handed with her.
