A British pilot and his wife were among four people killed after their car plunged 250ft into a ravine on the Spanish Canary Islands, according to reports.
The accident is said to have taken place after the vehicle came off the edge of a motorway in Galdar in the province of Las Palmas on Gran Canaria. A motorway worker is believed to have noticed damage to a barrier and reported the wreckage on Wednesday afternoon. The pilot has been named in local reports as Richard and he is thought to have worked for Norwegian Air Shuttle.
The airline confirmed his death. In a statement, Norwegian Air said:"Our thoughts are with the family, friends and colleagues of Relief Captain Richard Addicott during this sad time."He is believed to have been on holiday with his wife and they were visiting her father.More from Canary Islands
