A Nottinghamshire gran broke down in tears as she learnt she had won more than £80,000 in the People's Postcode Lottery. Margaret Chapman is one of eleven residents on Violet Avenue in Newthorpe who scooped an £83,333 share of a £1,000,000 prize pot, with one neighbour, who had two tickets, scooping £166,666.
The residents were taken by surprise when Postcode Lottery ambassador Daryl Johnson turned up on their doorsteps to give them the news. Gran Diane Westley, 56, said she had been happy winning £10 in the past - never mind more than 8000 times more than that.She said: "The first thing I bought for my husband when I knew I had won was a dryrobe. It’s overwhelming, unbelievable. I can’t take it all in. I’d like to go to Walt Disney World in Florida again.
