GovHowardDean Wow, they're just dead set on screwing up as badly as possible. Nice.

GovHowardDean Russian interference wins again.

There's just so much that's wrong/false in the government's official response to the RevokeArticle50 petition. So we thought we'd have a go at highlighting at least some of the nonsense. 🤣🤣

All this about 'will of the people', as if there's a singular will and a singular people. What about the rest of us?! And have you tried CHECKING to see if that's still the 'will of the people'? Because I know several people who've changed their minds!

Received subsequent email to say it's being debated on the 1st April, either spam or our beloved dictatorship taking the piss.

not enough people

Bunch of fucknuggets. I can't say I'm surprised. Andrea Leadsom's sneering comment about the government paying it attention if it reached 71.4 million stuck in my head. All we can do it get it there RevokeArticle50

beatieedney .... not good 😓

Even Jeremy Clarkson gets 1.5m signatures in a damn petition. After removing bots, foreigners and duplicates, that's what we have here. If these people wanted to remain they should have got out of bed and voted.

mandysatwit The current mayhem shows how a democratic referendum result can be used against the people to further the agenda of a political party. It's a perfect demonstration of the superiority of a parliamentary democracy over a direct one. It also shows that you cannot mix both systems.

Kick ass! Revoke Article 50! This is something similar to Trump stealing Mueller's report so he can re-write it before we and Senate see contents. CrazyLand.

We did not petition this rotten, useless, death, rudderless government: we petitioned the UK Parliament. Why is government preempting the debate? What is the point of a petition if no action can be taken? And enough with the will of the people in 2016. We are in 2019 now!

? how dose a handful of people manage to sign a petition 5.8 million time's ?

Well, there's a surprise.

It was also government policy to leave at 11pm on the 29th of March

This is misleading. Petitions have to reach 100,000 threshold for discussions & any rejection or acceptance is based on this threshold. This petition has a historical significance now & possibly a useful tool for future generations to demand rejoining if we leave. Sign it.

Broken promises never bothered governments in the past.

The petition will still be debated, as will a petition for a second referendum (120k) and one for us to just leave regardless (140k). Apparently 5.5 million doesn’t count as the will of the people in this case. Frankly, it’s erroding my spaghetti-thin faith in democracy.

How can 5.8 million people (and probably much more if it had been an actual vote) be shunned just like that and before the debate on the petition? This is anti democratic.

It’s disgusting, isn’t it? How to dismiss the wishes of millions of people in one go. How to declare “we don’t care about your view”. How to frustrate so many voters. How to undermine democracy.... YES.... DEMOCRACY!! Otherwise what is the petition system for?

Could someone point me to the promise of the prescription medicines running out? or the cost of goods going up? or the one where large car manufacturers leave?

Fluid democracy does not exist in their tiny minds. Lined pockets are more appealing, it seems.

😂 well that was worth it then!!

END OF POLITICS: MPs plot to seize control from Britain’s elected GovernmentBREXIT has pushed British party politics to breaking point as MPs will tonight attempt to sideline Theresa May’s elected Government and take control themselves. MPs are the elected government - we don’t elect parties we elect individual MPs. Its great to see them coming together to stop the act of economic suicide that garbage-sheets like you are promoting. Is this the beginning of the end of Westminster as so many MP’s seem to prefer governance from Brussels? UK Government and Parliament have lost all credibility. Heartbreaking. Feel as though our country has been lost. Disunity, fragmentation & surrender of Sovereignty....

Opinion: Why I created the petition to revoke Article 50 and cancel BrexitI didn’t expect much when I first created it but now the petition has 5 million signatures and counting and I'm determined to keep the momentum going Pakistan and Nigerians are the ones signing this crap 😂😂😂 If you sign a petition you are invited to watch online...its in a room with a few people...not in the chamber...its not binding and has no power to change anything...like the indicative votes....they are all ignored... Why don't you do your job as Journalists, and investigate how it is possible to manipulate the Petition system falsely and who/what organisations are complicit in it and to what ends....or is that something we should start a Petition for? Brexit petition to revoke Article 50 and remain in EU hits 5,000,000 signaturesIt's the most popular online protest in history with approximately 2,000 people signing a minute. How many of the are British, how many in London, and how many are only signing once? Let them sign. It's their own time they're wasting. Just like the 1/17th of the difference between Leave and Remain who chose to spend their hard earned money on a futile exercise. Their loss, not ours. Does this include the 1700 signed by the Vatican, or the several thousand signed in North Korea? 😂
