Opinion: Lisa Nandy's latest promise is straight out of the Thatcher playbookThe Labour leadership candidate's pledge to listen to voters echoes the Tory underdog’s winning pitch Lisa Nandy: I will listen to the people! The Independent: Ohmigod, Thatcher once said she would listen to people - clearly this politician who supports Freedom of Movement and nationalisation is a secret TORY 😱😱😱😱 As opinion pieces go, this sets new levels of absurdity. You can disagree on whether Nandy “listening to people” is really her saying we shouldn’t dismiss the concerns of communities and brand them racist bigots. Equating her to Thatcher is just dog whistle Corbynism.
