Adil Ray surprised Good Morning Britain audiences on Monday after asking an MP whether he would send Jesus to Rwanda in light of the government’s new refugee plans.

had set out widely criticised strategies to fly refugees who cross the Channel in small boats more than 4,000 miles to Rwanda.deeming it ‘ungodly’Adil wasted no time in questioning Minister of State for Business, Energy and Clean Growth Greg Hands on the matter and, in light of the‘Mr Hands, here we are celebrating Easter this weekend, the life and times of Jesus Christ, who was himself a refugee,’ Adil began.

‘Under this scheme, your government’s scheme, if he arrived in the UK today, Jesus will be sent to Rwanda. Is that right? Would you send Jesus to Rwanda?’Mr Hands was clearly taken aback by Adil’s line of questioning and let out a little giggle, prompting the presenter to criticise him for ‘not answering’ it.

‘I’m sorry, I think it’s a ludicrous question,’ Mr Hands then said. ‘We’re 2000 years later and over 28,000 people have made an illegal journey from France to the UK, between two entirely safe countries, 27 people have died. It’s 2000 years after the Easter story.’ Adil soon dropped the Jesus link, but that didn’t stop viewers from ridiculing the line of questioning online.

‘Adil Ray saying that if Jesus was alive he would have been sent to Rwanda is a bloody awful comparison,’ one fumed. ‘Where does this moron get his stupid comments from?’

Would Jesus come in illegally from France via boat having paid people smugglers? I always thought that if he ever did come then it would a little more spectacular tbh.

THemingford Adil Ray is pushing his luck. Will be out soon! The man doesn't understand the power structure in British society.

He wouldn't dare say that about Mohammed would he?

THemingford

What a plonker Ray is.

Can't he ask an intelligent question 🤔 he says the most stupid things.

N o b

I wonder what the response would have been if he was asked such a question about his god? Do not mock other religions adilray. I know your a racist but stop now please

Who's Adil Ray?

JohnsonOut84 Partygate

They'd even send him to Sunderland.

GMB is to tv like the Daily Star is to newspapers... not to be taken too seriously.

ali4bs Adil extremely good at interviewing politicians

He goes on about racism in this country a lot, when his Islamic Privilege allows him to make a career as a comedian despite not being remotely funny.

Seemed a fair question to me. This was after asking the government minister for a 101 times without getting an answer what the legal means to gain entry for a refugee was. That’s a few times I’ve seen them asked that question and yet to here an answer.

Lol Adil can't resist his daily dig at the govt. One of the reasons GMB has lost a million viewers over the past year.

Was he 'mocked'?

I would have have sent a paedophile slave owner there instead.

Perfectly reasonable question actually. It’s likely Jesus would have been blown away by British ammunition before he got the chance to run. RememberShamimaBagen

Racist Ray has totally morphed into racist Lammy. The day Jesus turns up in Dover in a rubber dinghy he can come & stay in my house, & send the odious 🤡🤡 Ray & Lammy to Rwanda on a one way ticket.

'Joseph, Mary, and Jesus went to Egypt to escape from Herod the Great's slaughter of the baby boys in Bethlehem' 'Illegal' refugees then. A Tory adminstration would have sent them to Rwanda

Yes, the Tories would, he and his parents were refugees. They'd have been shifted to Rwanda.

Stupid question

That's like asking if the UK government would send Unicorns to Rwanda! No.. what about Dragons? Anyone?

Just goes to show GMTv viewers are in the whole cultural Christians and wouldn't know their Mark from their Matthew from their Luke.

Well according to one of the books of the NT. Jesus and his family seeked refuge in Egypt to escape the Roman regime in Palestine at the time. If that family were to seek refuge in the UK now, Jesus, his dad and his brothers would all be sent to Rwanda.
