Each year tickets to the music festival are snapped up as soon as they go on sale, last year it was completely sold out within an hour. But those poised for purchase for 2024’s festival found themselves placed on hold after complications appeared in the registration process. Why has the sale of Glastonbury tickets been delayed? And the second batch of general admission tickets were expected to be released on Sunday morning.
“This is to ensure that everyone who would like to buy a ticket is registered and therefore eligible to purchase one.” Organisers said “it has come to light that some individuals hoping to buy tickets for 2024 have discovered after Monday’s registration deadline that they are no longer registered, despite believing they were”.They said that following this year’s festival they had alerted everyone with a registration which pre-dated 2020 of a scheduled review of the details held by See Tickets in the Glastonbury Festival registration database.
This was to ensure the details they held were current and were not stored for any longer than is necessary.Registration closed on Monday ahead of the ticket sale, but it became clear some people were no longer registered even though they thought they were. So “out of fairness to those individuals”, the sale has been delayed by two weeks and the window for registration reopened from 12 noon on Monday 6 November until 5pm on Monday 13 November.“We apologise for the late change to the ticket sale dates, but we want to ensure that everyone who would like to buy a ticket for next year’s Festival is able to confirm their registration ahead of the sale.”Tickets plus coach travel will not go on sale at 6pm on Thursday 16 November.
