18-year-old Sadiq Shaik has volunteered more than 200 hours to a first aid charity and has even performed CPR on a member of the public who was suffering a cardiac arrest.

A Glasgow teenager has dedicated more than 200 hours to volunteering for a first aid charity, including performing CPR on a member of the public having a cardiac arrest.

One of Sadiq's most notable achievements came last year, during a challenging incident involving a complex cardiac arrest case when he was just 17. On winning the award at the ceremony on March 29, Sadiq said: “I’m so glad I have been able to use my first aid training to support people in need. You never know when your skills may be required and when it comes to it, any fears you may have go out of the window and all you can think about is trying to save a person’s life.
