The team behind Homeless Project Scotland are looking for volunteer drivers to help collect food.

A Glasgow soup kitchen has issued an urgent appeal for volunteer drivers to join their team to help collect food for the charity.

Services offered by the charity include a soup kitchen which serves hot meals daily, a night shelter which provides emergency accommodation and a food van which offers free meals to vulnerable people in multiple locations.Founder of the charity, Colin McInnes, says drivers are “urgently needed” or food collections may have to stop.

Mr McInnes added: "We cannot ignore the harsh reality that people in our community are being forced to sleep on the streets due to the lack of available shelter space.
