Locals have been told to expect more disruption on the roads while the work is getting done.

Glasgow's Southside faces even more road disruption as the area of the sewage network being upgraded by Scottish Water is extended.

Civil Engineers George Leslie Ltd is delivering the project, which will also see teams working inside the actual sewer pipe itself. It will be carried out in two phases to enable an initial repair on the sewer in Clarkston Road.It all started on Monday, June 6 when the inside lane of Clarkston Road southbound from Spean Street/Old Castle Road to Margaretta Buildings was closed off and will remain closed for a couple of more weeks.

A spokesperson for George Leslie Ltd told Glasgow Live: “We understand the importance of the works that Scottish Water has charged George Leslie Ltd to deliver. Both teams have been collaborating closely these past months in the planning and preparation of the project, liaising with both businesses and residents to ensure that this temporary inconvenience will bring a lasting benefit to the people of Cathcart.
