A freedom of information request has revealed the staggering number of road defects the council has been called to fix on Nitshill Road in the south of the city.

Glasgow City Council has been called to fix 185 potholes on a two mile stretch of road branded the second worst in the city.

Other work shows the council has fixed the Pedestrian barriers 14 times, while clearing debris caused by accidents has accounted for eight. The rest consist of regular maintenance such as manhole covers, traffic lights or are listed as 'other'. In January last year, Glasgow Live heard from Christine Boluk, who owns Prestige barbershop, on Peat Road, who branded Glasgow ‘pothole city’ after her car was damaged when she drove through one on Nitshill Road.

The 35-year-old told Glasgow Live: "It’s disgusting they are taking everybody's council tax and road tax off them, why in Glasgow are people paying tax for their vehicles?"I feel let down by the council."In March last year, we reported that the road had the second most pothole reports in 2022 with 276. Great Western had the most with 378.
