Rumours are rife tonight that Strictly Come Dancing favourite Giovanni Pernice has decided to leave the popular BBC show.
This surprising decision comes after tension between the dancer and actress Amanda, who was his celebrity partner last year. The 52 year old actress left the competition in October following a series of disputes that resulted in her breaking down due to Giovanni's rigorous training regime. A BBC spokesperson confirmed tonight: "The Professional Dancers for Strictly Come Dancing 2024 will be announced in due course."
Amanda Abbington has stepped back from the dance competition citing "medical reasons", but whispers suggest that the Sherlock actress might be seeking legal advice after allegedly experiencing post-traumatic stress disorder due to her time on the show, which some believe may point to Giovanni's intense training style.
At 52, Amanda Abbington, renowned for her role in Sherlock, was teamed up with Giovanni in the last season of the BBC's dancing contest. But after a mere five weeks, she left due to "medical reasons" and later revealed suffering from PTSD post-Strictly. Despite the ensuing drama, Giovanni, who enjoyed steadfast backing from the BBC, insists that Amanda's well-being was always his top concern.
