Gina Yashere meets London Hughes: 'America is super-racist but the glass ceiling is higher!'

Born and raised in London, Gina Yashere, 46, had a successful standup career in the UK, but frustrated by a lack of further opportunities, she moved to Los Angeles in 2007. There, she built an even bigger following , nabbed a regular spot on US satirical institution The Daily Show, and now has her own sitcom with the Big Bang Theory super-producer Chuck Lorre.

It's all about the money, baby. If you're ready to hustle the US is more gracious and generous.

USA is the land of contradictions but most black people are aware that opportunities are exponentially greater for us there. Astronauts, President, Head of Armed Forces, CEO's of major corporations...do I need to continue? When will these opportunities present themselves in UK?

If western countries are so terrible, you have the choice of living in Africa with other black people, where you won’t even have to see a white person. I mean, you literally have an entire continent to yourselves. White people don’t any more.
