Letters: Christine Fuchs says the UK’s response has been totally inadequate, Paul Abrams says Boris Johnson is responsible, and Andrew Lamkowski laments the continued understating of the crisis

After a we ek when, in the UK, the number of Covid-19 linked deaths rose, when Public Health England urged the reuse of disposable protective gear, when social care leaders criticised the government’s strategy as “shameful and shambolic”, I am not worried.

And Vietnam, Finland, New Zealand....

No surprises that one country has a leader the other one has an actor

Of course it did. Bear in mind this government came to power on ONE TOPIC and one alone. They're incapable of handling anything other than brexshit

Too little too late understatement of the year

Why do the British constantly feel the need to compare themselves with Germany. They could compare with a lot of European countries (Denmark, Austria, Ireland even) and their performance on Covid19 would be equally poor.

There’s always someone with comparison anxiety.

But these Tories have no shame!🤨

Not that he would be a lot of use where is the Yellow bastard Allegedly he is in charge of the country even bucket mouth Trump has visable taking questions even though he has not one clue what he's talking about so where is Boris? He won't but should hang his head in shame

Just to add.. Germany follows WHO rules in registering Covid19 fatalities, the numbers are registered by the Robert Koch Institute through the Gesundheitsämter, and it also has areas of high population density in North Rhein Westfalia. So the trolls here have it all wrong.

Disgrace of a paper, run by 🤡🤡

Why are you complaining? You get what you voted for. People should be happy.

Boris phoned his boss today to give him an update on the British government's progress, apparently Trump was so impressed that he phoned his boss, Vladimir, although i don't think Vlad was as forgiving as Trump, we wait with baited breath as to the outcome of his displeasure

Don’t compare apples to oranges in the US they are calling all death COVID-19 related. With or without testing. In New York they were sending Positive patients back to their Nursing homes and putting others at risk at even increased risks. 25% of NY deaths were in Nursing Homes.

Most countries in the worlds response has been better than the UK with the exception of America of course

Call the King

Puts POTUS to shame too!

BLAME IT TO CORONABORIS !

Yes, we should replicate their decentralised health system that benefits from a healthy private sector

Our lovely German cousins were always good at following orders of course.

Thank goodness the EU got rid of the UK.

The truth is painful so when someone tell us on our face ? We get mad 😠 why? Because we're cowardly to admitted the reality of our error simple like that. It's a great lesson to avoid future mistakes. Correction teachers us to be smart and make right things without error.

All of Europe and UK’s performances during this period were totally disastrous and aggravated the whole global situation!

BorisJohnson didn’t believe this was a crisis until he was in a crisis in the hospital. he and his party want to deny people healthcare but will gladly take the help for themselves and their wives and children.

😂 no shit, look at the clowns we have on point, here and in the states, breaking records 👏👏👏

So does Thailands So does Malaysia So does Hong Kong So does S.Korea So does Vietnam Need i continue?

Excellent, presumably the French, Italians & Spanish were put to shame too ?

'Germans don't hark back to a wartime spirit,' says the letter. Hardly fucking surprising in Germany...

Because they have private healthcare system 🤷‍♂️

Do not forget that Boris Johnson government was busy with Brexit - excellent timing....

“shame” ? It is a very emotional use of language. Better to stick to reporting facts and figures please.

😂

Tbh - my cat’s response was better...

(Please, now do the USA)

Envy is so middle class

More toilet paper.
