Germany moves forward with $45billion plan to close all its coal-burning power plants by 2038

The new bills come after the country stopped all black coal mining in 2018, though it continues to import coal from other countries to run its power plants.

🇬🇧 target date is 2024. 🇬🇧 last used coal to generate electricity three months ago.

Burn the coal, pay the toll. As I always like to say.

The article says wind and solar are 50% of Germany's energy 'capacity.' However, their capacity is misleading. The Capacity Factor (efficiency) is about 30%. Plus they are intermittent, weather dependent and chaotic. Their output must be chased by a reliable source, natural gas.

DARK Season 4 leaks

Masks the fact that Germany has abandoned expensive renewables and nukes and has returned to coal to keep the lights on. Coal is (once more) King.

I wish the South African government would be more educated to make these decisions.
