A GENIUS WhatsApp trick lets you secretly read messages sent to your iPhone without the sender knowing you've seen them.

You can also turn off read receipts entirely, but then you won't get to see them from other users, which is frustrating. After a number of tweaks the app was released with a messaging component in June 2009, with 250,000 active users
