Gang break into house and threaten OAP with 'gun and machete'

Officers received a call that at around 6.30pm on Tuesday, February 20, it was reported that four men had broken into a home on Thistledown Close in Aigburth . During the incident, the two people inside – a woman aged in her 80s and a man aged in his 50s – were threatened with a reported firearm and a machete.

Since the incident, officers have carried out house-to-house, CCTV and forensic enquiries in the local area. As part of an ongoing investigation, . “This would have been extremely traumatic for them. Thankfully, incidents such as this are extremely rare, but we are committed to finding the people responsible and bringing them to justice.
