Raymond Cooper, owner of Prestwick's Golf Inn, caught oil thieves on CCTV after they raided the boozer last weekend.

A furious Ayrshire pub landlord has vowed to track down slippery thieves who snatched cooking oil from his boozer – after catching them on camera.

Raymond told Ayrshire Live: “I’m absolutely fuming. They must have been watching the car park, because it happened just after our cleaner left. We caught the guy’s face on camera. The guy thought he’d evaded the cameras after putting a sock over one of them. “I’m just furious. I’m going to catch them, the CCTV has their faces clear as day. Someone out there will know something. We checked cameras out the front that also caught their registration plate, that’s all been handed to the police.”

Raymond has urged other landlords and business owners to be vigilant. It’s not the first time in recent years that Ayrshire food businesses have been targeted by oil thieves.
