Met Office forecasters predict it will be a dry and sunny day in our region on Saturday with some cloudy intervals. It will feel warm this afternoon as the mercury climbs to 23C, making it hotter than the 20C expected in the Spanish city.
The sunniest weather is expected late this afternoon and into the early evening. Forecasters predict Sunday will be another hot and sunny day with more warm temperatures of 23C expected. No cloudy intervals are forecast on Sunday so it should be sunny and bright all day. Although the heat is set to rise over the coming days, the Met Office says it isn't quite at the levels of a heatwave.
In our corner of the country, that would mean three consecutive days at 25C for this time of year. On the overall outlook for the North West from Monday to Wednesday, the Met Office said: "A mixture of cloud and warm sunny spells during this period. "Low cloud is possible in the mornings with a chance of isolated showers, particularly by Tuesday. Cloudier on Wednesday."
