Legislation has been laid in Parliament today which adds the breed to the list which are outlawed under the Dangerous Dogs Act 1991.was mauled to death by two dogs believes to be XL Bullies in the village of Stonnall, Staffordshire, in September.
Since then, a panel of experts has been convened to agree on a legal definition of the breed, which has today been published. Ian Price, 52, was mauled to death by two dogs thought to be the XL Bully breed in Stonnall, Staffordshire Environment Secretary Thérèse Coffey said: “We are taking quick and decisive action to protect the public from tragic dog attacks and today I have added the XL Bully type to the list of dogs prohibited under the Dangerous Dogs Act.
