GCSE results 2021: How were grades decided?Teachers decided students' GCSE grades this year But how did they make the decision of who got what grades? Pulled them out of a hat where all the scraps of paper had As on them? My top 3 are, Teachers favourites, pushy parents, scared of being called racist 🤷♀️ Then topped up by mock exams, coursework and results from previous years. Should have asked each school to justify their methodology, especially independents. However, root of problem is league tables; incentivises a pressure to do anything to maximise grades on exit.
