After a ‘downbeat’ briefing with ministers

Boris Johnson

It means nightclubs could open again for the first time in over a year while restrictions on large events would no longer apply. England’s chief medical officer Chris Whitty and the Government’s top scientific adviser Patrick Vallance were said to have held a ‘fairly grim’ briefing with ministers. Another cabinet source said the mood in Whitehall was ‘downbeat’ and that a two-week delay, followed by a full reopening as planned, would help minimise confusion.

Lockdown ends on the 21st or it is time for mass civil disobedience; this is the only way lockdown will ever end. There will always be another variant another excuse to push back the easing of restrictions. Let those afraid to live stay at home left the rest get on with living

This is terrible news for all the over 50s that planned to visit a nightclub on the 21st

I've spoken to a large number of people and haven't found a single one who thinks we should be reopening on June 21st, it would be irresponsible and dangerous.
