Nottingham Forest will be carrying out an "audit" of green space across Nottinghamshire to see where new sports facilities could be built as the club aims to boost the county's health. Hosting an Olympic-style event in Nottinghamshire and bringing all the county's professional and semi-professional clubs together for the first time are also among Forest's plans to boost access to sport.
"We're going to determine a date, let's say May 2027, or some time around there. We'll judge our success by seeing the smiling faces of kids playing sport on playing fields they didn't even know existed two or three years before." Speaking about the dispute with the city council during the press conference, Mr Cartledge said: "I'm not going to talk necessarily about our challenges with the city council, but perhaps where the city council challenges, the county council... have come to our saviour."
