And there’s now a flat pedal version that gets the same platform-friendly Vibram XS Trek Evo sole of the recent Ergolace GTX mountain bike shoes.“Fully insulated, waterproof and breathable”, the Nanuq GTXes are made of an abrasion-resistant ripstop woven fabric upper with heat-laminated polyurethane reinforcement around the entire perimeter of the shoes. A single Boa L6 dial crosses 3 sets of guides for fine fit adjustment.

The standard Fizik Ergolace GTX is a “rugged, versatile, weatherproof trail shoe” with a breathable 3-layer Gore-Tex Prism membrane inside, tough ripstop nylon & synthetic upper, hard-to-argue with laces, 2-bolt SPD cleat compatibility, and a grippy Vibram lugged outsole. Sure, it’s a rugged MTB-ready shoe, but it’s a slim fit without a lot of bulk or any unnecessary extras.The PedalEd version is essentially just a new dark brick red & tan color option. But they do look good.
