Fool Me Once star given big role representing UK ahead of Eurovision 2024

The Eurovision Song Contest is set to be even more fabulous this year, as national treasure Dame Joanna Lumley has been announced as the UK spokesperson. The Absolutely Fabulous icon's role in the grand final was revealed by Eurovision commentator Graham Norton on The One Show on Friday.

"I am delighted to be announcing the jury vote for the UK at this year's Eurovision. It's such a fabulous honour to give the iconic 'douze points'". Amanda Holden stirred controversy last year when she delivered the results of the UK professional jury by claiming she couldn't distinguish between French and Dutch greetings. Joanna Lumley, 78, model, actor, presenter, producer, and humanitarian, is a beloved figure in the UK and was awarded her Damehood in 2022 for services to drama, entertainment and charity.

She will announce the results of the UK National Jury during the live Eurovision Grand Final when it broadcasts on BBC One next Saturday .
