The Environment Agency has issued 23 flood warnings by 3am for an area stretching from Ludgershall in Wiltshire down to Dorset and across to Somerset.said. Icy patches could cause difficult driving conditions.
Lows of -8°C were recorded at Benson in Oxfordshire with lows of -6°C south of the Wiltshire military Airport, at Bournemouth Airport. Lows of -3°C hit Exeter and Yeovil. Sub-zero temperatures have hit parts of England for at least a week now, though temperatures in Scotland have been above zero recently.from Exeter to Oxford which was lifted at 8am, though the forecaster said the mist and freezing fog will be slow to clear over southern England.
“Freezing fog will lead to difficult driving conditions and could cause travel delays in some areas,” the Met Office said. Dense fog could see visibility drop to below 100 metres in places, the forecasters added.
