NEU teacher strikes: Government and union to meet for last-ditch talksEducation Secretary Gillian Keegan will meet union chiefs in an effort to avert Wednesday's walkout. The government needs to give the public sector a decent pay rise. Teachers, nurses, the lot. Talk about what? Can’t see that being any use. The Tories have laid out their table and money for teachers is not on it is it worth it? I doubt the sec for education has the power to settle the dispute. the powerful cabal behind the scenes pulls the strings that make this puppet government dance.
