Facebook is planning to change its name next week to shake off multiple scandals

Facebook's flagship social media website, founded in 2004, would keep its name. But parent company Facebook, Inc. has slowly shifted into other realms. Facebook Inc. owns Instagram and WhatsApp, and is also building out virtual reality spaces like Horizon Worlds as part of its new 'metaverse'.
