F1's owners Liberty Media are reportedly interested in buying a Premier League football club.

Liberty Media CEO Greg Maffei recently revealed that they have been looking into buying several Premier League teams, with clubs including Liverpool, Manchester United and Tottenham on the cards.Liberty Media took over Formula 1 from Bernie Ecclestone back in 2017, and have since grown the empire to a net worth of around £17 billion. It’s no secret that several PL clubs have been looking for potential investors for quite sometime. The likes of Manchester United and Liverpool have fallen behind the might of Manchester City in recent years, and are in dire need of funds to close the gap at the top of the table.a partnership with Tottenham HotspurFurthermore, Liberty Media have held a significant stake in the Atlanta Braves, a professional baseball team, since 2007.

“That doesn’t mean we’ve been ready to buy them all but we look at everything because we do think sports in general is attractive.” The CEO believes they can build on their success story with F1 and apply a similar philosophy in helping Premier League teams to succeed. He used the Atlanta Braves as an example, adding: “I believe we have the best management team in baseball creating both a great on-field product at a reasonable price with a long-term future and young players who are well set up on contracts.”
