Extinction Rebellion Grandparents: Our generation is partly responsible

"This is a rebellion, our house is on fire," sang a crowd of pensioners to the tune of Elvis Presley's Hound Dog as they stood outside the gates of Buckingham Palace.

He added that he and others were"scared stiff" at some of the predictions about the impact of climate change.Others in the crowd also repeated the suggestion that they felt their generation had been partly to blame. Satnam Kaur Khalsa, 63, from Hounslow, was joined at the protest by her daughter, son-in-law and three grandchildren, all who travelled from Mexico for the ongoing rallies.

"Watching the footage in London, we made plans to join my mum," said Harmeet, 42, a former freelance travel writer who now works in teaching."We will be here for a few months." Jack was arrested at a protest in April, and said:"Granddad wrote me a witness statement for court. That was what started the dialogue.Michael Frayn, 86, with his grandchildren Eliza and Jack outside Buckingham Palace

No grandpa and ma your generation our generation and everyone else is responsible for the horrific things happening now.

How?. Reusable nappies Reusable bottles (Corona, milk) Hand me down clothes Etc...

And how did Ms Kaur Khalsa's daughter, Harmeet, get here By plane I guess!! Hypocrites!! Yes the over 60s are partly to blame for climate change... we gave birth to a lot of gas guzzling, plastic using complainers. We used glass bottles & returned them to the shops to recycle

What? They did not consume anything like today's young people do. No new garment each week from Primark? No new expensive phone each year, minimum. Activists are focusing on all the wrong issues.

Ridiculous

Partly responsible for what ? So you lot have been Brainwashed as well by the Climate Change Fanatics. Put on a guilt trip huh you would believe anything. Do your own Research instead of listening to the Doom and Gloom merchants.

Responsible?

bollocks we recycled just about everything --everything we purchased was made to last --we were not the throw away plastic society of today ---we were green only poison then was the factories and coal

Quotes from Privileged older generation speaking for there spoiled children all have time and money to have a family day out in London, even flying from mexico.

Pathetic self flagellation. Humans have been on this course for thousands of years. No one generation is to blame.

Spot the ethnic minority in this picture.

Get some care homes built. 😂

Decades of flying all over the world and now they want to try to make out they care. Fvck off

Yeah, right , let’s guilt trip the oldies

what a total bunch of numpties

Should be watching daytime tv not clogging up the capital.
