Exams: Grading system could become 'Wild West', MPs warnThe Education Select Committee has written to the Government to raise concerns about the of awarding grades after exams were cancelled. Utter nonsense. Some GCSE pupils are already being 'teacher graded', others are being assessed by mock exams after Easter, it's already an uneven playing field. It's got to be one format for the whole country. They should give year 11's externally set and assessed exams in core subjects only. Most schools will have covered what is needed for GCSE maths and English language by now. This is the only way to keep it fair. Let none-core subjects be centre assessed grades.

Teachers call for GCSEs and A-level exams to be replacedThe National Union of Education is seeking a major overhaul of both GCSE and A-Level examinations replacing the 'toxic' tests with a 'more flexible' means of assessment. Yes. Let's use Covid to make changes - especially to GCSEs. They are no longer fit for purpose. My opinion is to keep A levels, change GCSEs for IGCSEs. Also, have proper technical courses for trades. Keep academic standards high and avoid watering down. It helps nobody in the end.
