Temperatures are to rise throughout the week and parts could get warmer than the Spanish holiday hot spot.

Scots are set to bask the heat this week, with one day set to be hotter than a popular Spanish island.

BBC meteorologist Stav Danos said an area of high pressure is to bring "settled conditions" across the country and "increasing amounts of sunshine" through to the weekend. This evening is going to feel "quite warm" with 20C expected in Edinburgh. But Saturday is when things will really start to sizzle and despite sprinkled showers again in store for the far north, Mr Davos predicts "up to 22 or 23C for the central belt, as warm as 20C there for Aberdeen".
