Plans for a new pub minutes away from Ibrox, submitted by a former Rangers player, have been rejected by Glasgow City Council.
Scott Arfield, who left the blue side of the city this summer after joining in 2018, was hoping to turn 150 Copland Street into a new bar. The council also said the plans would not meet the Scottish Government's latest National Planning Framework.
Councillors were concerned that the addition a new pub would have a negative impact on the surrounding area and Glasgow's economy as a whole.The Canadian international, who now plays his trade across the pond with Charlotte FC, has a chance to appeal the decision.
