Everything to know about Supacell - the new Netflix series with Jay-Z's approval

Netflix's upcoming British sci-fi series featuring a predominantly black cast has been given the nod by rapper Jay-Z.

A fan of the superhero genre, Rapman created the series because he wasn't fully satisfied with its tropes. "If I got powers, my first thing wouldn’t be to go and buy a spandex outfit," he previously told Deadline. “I was thinking ‘What can I use my powers for to put my family in a better position?'" Supacell tackles a number of themes including knife crime, racial profiling and sickle cell - a blood disorder which impacts some 17,000 people in England.
