Sweden is hosting the Eurovision Song Contest for the seventh time this year after winning in 1975, 1985, 1992, 2000, 2013 and 2016. Two of those competitions were hosted in Malmö meaning this is the third time the city has played host.
Following its success last year, it was agreed by SVT and the Eurovision Song Contest Reference Group , to use United By Music as the official slogan for the Eurovision Song Contest. Reflecting on hosting the first live show, Malin said: "It was wonderful. It was so exciting. I’ve never experienced an audience like that — the energy was so high. It was truly just magical and I know for my family here in Sweden, it’s such a big deal."
