Hamsters and fungi may not be poster species among those threatened with extinction but are no less important in ecosystems, according to an updated list of the world’s most fragile species.
Five years ago I saw this precious thing place her paw on the glass, I could not-not get her, not once did she bite or show aggressive behavior. The best things come in small packages (kinda 😉). Always sad to see animals on the verge of extinction when we could save em.
I had a hamster aged 8. Kept in the hallway, near to the front door. No central heating. During the winter we thought it had died, so me and my Brother buried it in a shoe box. Years later I learnt that they can go into state of suspensed animation when v cold. Sorry Goldie 🙁
I've wondered so many times since I had a hamster in elementary school whether wild hamsters still existed. Now I learn that they do but apparently, at least for this species of hamster, not for much longer. I'm fairly certain this would have made 9 year old me cry.
Let me guess... Racism is killing the caterpillar fungus? Or is this one Britain’s colonial past?
