At times it was difficult to imagine that the prime minister who presented her delay compromise to the media in Brussels was the same one who had a day previously launched an uncompromising attack on the Commons for blocking her deal, and promised no lengthy delay.
But here in Brussels after a day of behind-closed-doors drama, the PM had to accept a path to a long delay she had ruled out the day before, and that a short delay would be far shorter than she had hoped. The image of the day was the representatives of the 27 continuing member states gathered around a laptop hammering out the deal, while British representatives were locked out of discussions on another floor of the European Council building.
But during the PM's 90-minute plea on an extension, mainly because she simply did not answer what would happen should the planned meaningful vote fail, there was a change.PM's plea to MPs after EU agrees Brexit delaySo the EU27 leaders decided to debate and decide for themselves, not the request from the PM, but also a wider solution to the current impasse.
But it also squeezed the length of a shorter extension after passing a deal to just eight weeks with a deadline of 22 May. In any event the 29 March"cliff edge" was pushed back to 12 April.
E.U. knows our MPs will do their dirty work for them.
And sit back as everything implodes. Just stick to the script of the PEOPLES VOTE and leave, then broker a deal afterwards when both side can negotiate better, instead of being an underdog. Brexit
That's it then. If it's in the hands of remainer MP's its over. Don't ever ask us to vote on anything again except where we can delete you from your £80,000 + expenses, snouts in the trough 'jobs'(🤔)!😡
You are lying again sky. Bercow has already made it clear it can't be done. Sad sad sky.
Watch May attempt to up the bribes for voting for her deal. For instance, I bet the DUP are rubbing their hands.
Which shows they are getting desperate.
No they havent The EU have changed the date to 12th April or 22nd May ..just like that. After 3 years of telling us 29th March. Its disgusting
What could possibly go wrong 🤪🤔😬
They've been in the driving seat of a clown car for a few years already.
Time for MPs to piss or get off the pot!!
The MP’s debated and approved the referendum and now will not honor that result. Why are they the bastions of trustworthiness? Parliament has sought to block Brexit from day one... the plan has been well worked in collaboration with the EU. Democracy..... they’re having a laugh
One thing Brexit has shown with more people watching parliament on television is on the whole - what a pathetic crowd they are - and we trust these people to run our country and make our laws - with a speaker it seems with more power than the monarch
When the PM`s deal fails it should then be a 'No Deal' not go to a vote on what other MP`s desire. The result of the referendum still stands LEAVE is still the Will of 17.4 million people.
incase you forgot what democracy is
What I understand is the EU asked her repeatedly what she would do when her deal was voted down and she never had a answer. Clueless
Nigel_Farage the Conservatives conservative a plan.
GOODBYE EU
The very people who don’t want to leave the EU are put in charge by the EU....imagine that 🤔🧐🇬🇧
To be honest , at the moment, I would trust Prince Phillip to be ‘in the driving seat’ rather than MPs.
Do the right thing revoke this madness
Back to the traitors of democracy
So they really do need the 39 billion

Sky News @SkyNewsPMQs: PM to face MPs as she requests Brexit delay This is so tiring... wonder if they will betray the vote to leave again and give her this So 1. How f-ing stroppy is that letter. Its all 'they won't do what I want, its their fault'. Also 2. Is she saying that the EU agreeing to the legal 'changes', which were the reason for MV2 would be cause for MV3 because that's then somehow different?
