Experts find hundreds of errors in the writer’s works, mostly made by editors and typesetters

Ernest Hemingway’s published writings are riddled with hundreds of errors and little has been done to correct them, according to a forthcoming study of the legendary writer’s texts.

I see errors like this in books all the time. They leap out at me, so I’m guessing that publishing houses don’t bother having anyone actually read a sample copy before they go to print. Offering my services here in case anyone is hiring.... 🙋‍♀️

It has commonly been accepted that Hemingway was a bit of a gasbag who had little regard for truth and accuracy... which was probably his most interesting and saleable asset! It's interesting (and ironic) that this should come as a surprise to Guardian writers and readers!

And people are actually surprised? Hemingway is entirely overrated. He wouldn’t know an elegant sentence if it hit him in the ass. He whips his sentences into submission as if literature is something to be conquered. 🤮

The very first one mentioned is totally plausible. Why wouldn’t/couldn’t u use a hat to catch grasshoppers.
