Former Manchester United captain Roy Keane has compared Erling Haaland to a "League Two player" after Manchester City's draw with Arsenal.
City didn't manage to score at home for the first time in 58 games across all competitions, but it was Haaland's overall performance that didn't impress Keane in the 0-0 stalemate at the Etihad. Haaland missed a huge chance in the title showdown, but it was his alround game that left Keane far from impressed.
"The level of his general play is so poor and not just today," Keane commented on Sky Sports. "I think laying his stuff off, headers, whatever it might be.... In terms of in front of goal, he's the best in the world. But his general play for such a player it is so poor. Not just today, he has to improve. He's almost like a League Two player, that's how I look at him. His general play has to improve and it will do over the next few years.
The result left Liverpool sitting top of the English Premier League by two points. Jurgen klopp's side came from behind to beat Brighton 2-1 at Anfield and are still top of the pile with nine games to go. Klopp will depart Merseyside at the end of the season. His opposite number on the touchline, Roberto Di Zerbi, has been named as one of the leading candidates to take over from the German. But the Seagulls boss dismissed reports that he was set to leave the Amex this summer.
