British rock icon Eric Clapton has said he will not perform at venues that require concertgoers to be fully vaccinated against Covid-19.
The guitarist said he felt "honour bound" to make the statement, which was posted on Wednesday to the accounts of Italian architect and film producer Robin Monotti.In a letter to Mr Monotti, he blamed "propaganda" for overstating the safety of the vaccine. He added that he feared the "disastrous" reaction would leave him unable to play music again.
There is a very rare blood clot side-effect believed to be linked to the AstraZeneca vaccine, but the European Medicines Agency still recommends the jabs for all ages.Clapton's next UK show is scheduled for May 2022 at London's Royal Albert Hall. The venue has said people may be asked to show their Covid status ahead of an event.
I was a huge fan, but sorry, people are dying, 600+ have already died from Covid and we have a way of preventing this. You have a voice that is heard by millions to help more get vaccinated. One word, very DISAPPOINTED !

Eric had adverse reaction to the jab. I would suspect the actual virus would have been worse. Surely concerts for a mixed audience would put the 'unvaxxed' at more risk than others, especially older members of the audience.

This could have the effect of putting more young people off being jabbed. I had my doubts too but have had two this year....If Eric had a bad reaction to the vaccine it could be due to underlying health issues combined with his age...
